Mahindra Finance expands its global footprint, acquires 58.2% in Ideal Finance

Mahindra Finance entered into a contractual agreement with Ideal Finance in 2019, agreeing to acquire 58% stake by March 2021, which was mutually extended by both companies till September 2021. M&M's sales volume may be lower by 20% in June quarter

"The rampant spread of the second wave of COVID-19 and lockdowns enforced in various states/parts of the country coupled with disruption in the supply of oxygen for industrial use, demand and supply for vehicles and tractors is expected to be impacted temporarily," M&M said.

SsangYong Motor in receivership as owner Mahindra fails to find buyer

South Korea's SsangYong Motor has been put under court receivership, the Seoul Bankruptcy Court said on Thursday, in an attempt to rehabilitate the car maker after majority owner Mahindra and Mahindra failed to secure a buyer. SsangYong applied to the court in December for receivership after it defaulted on a loan repayment.

SUV is not a fad that will fade away like certain fashion trends. The product offering rests on strong fundamentals using a mix of emotional and practical reasons.SUV sales were the only bright spot with a 2% growth when the overall passenger vehicle market shrunk by 10% in 2020-21 from that in 2019-20 (which itself was a dampener). This report explores and explains the reasons for this phenomenal consumer shift to SUVs shelving the traditional hatch and premium sedans. However, the latter two segments will not be totally eclipsed. They will continue to enjoy loyal following as the SUVs will neither have the elegance and proportions of a sedan nor the convenience of a hatch. They all will co-exist.
