Nissan Motor India’s Move Beyond Golf Tournament held at The Tollygunge Club, Kolkata, caters to a group of over 100 customers and provides the participants with a day of golf and an opportunity to experience Nissan’s global, premium SUVs, the company said.
Nissan joins a growing number of companies which have enlisted Osaka for endorsement, including Adidas AG, Yonex Co, Nissin Foods Co, Wowow Inc and Citizen Watch Co.
India is looking at having an all-electric car fleet by 2030 with an express objective of lowering the fuel import bill and running cost of vehicles.
Schillaci, Executive V-P, global marketing and sales, said Nissan is already working on a long-term plan for India, which will be unveiled soon.
In this role Kuehl, who joins Nissan from Volkswagen, will be responsible for both Nissan and Datsun brands and will head all operations in India including Marketing and Sales, Manufacturing and Research and Development.
Ex-showroom prices of the company's products have been reduced by an average of 3 per cent, depending on city and model specification, Nissan Motor India said in a statement.
Nissan has announced global unveiling of the 2018 LEAF with semi-autonomous ProPILOT Park technology on September 6. Though it is not confirmed yet, the Japanese automaker is considering to bring this new generation model of its 100 per cent electric car to India as well.
“But this (Nissan Leaf) initiative will not be big, it will be a small volume initiative; more to explain to our customers what our brand is about. There is some discussion about bringing it to India this year but it is still to be confirmed,” Colin MacDonald, CEO and managing director of Renault Nissan Automotive India who was in Delhi recently told ETAuto.

"I always said that in India, you need to learn. You cannot come and see a miracle and see a product succeed," the chairman said.
The new alternatives on the Ace platform will take higher payload as well as withstand more abuse than the current range, say company insiders.
Nissan India Operations President Guillaume Sicard said: "there is nothing substantial for R&D for automotive industry, EV and Hybrid vehicles, which is a dampener."
Ashok Leyland is also planning to incorporate left-hand drives for the new Partner and pitch it for exports to its targeted geographies in Africa and West Asia.

Already hit by the double-whammy of demonetisation and an impending price rise, prospective car buyers may continue to push back plans of getting behind new wheels. An upward swing in prices of crude oil may further hamper market sentiments.
