“AICTSL, through a contractor, has acquired around 10 electric bus while 30 more are EV vehicles expected to come in near future to help replacing as many diesel buses from BRTS Corridor to help convert it into green mobility friendly corridor,” IMC commissioner Harshika Singh said, adding that presently, 20 diesel and 29 CNG buses are being operated on BRTS to facilitate the commuters.
In the meeting, Silawat directed the extension of the route to Nipania. mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav expressed that the allocation of routes for e-rickshaws would contribute to smoother traffic in the city. These buses are being brought under the Centre’s Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) mission, and AICTSL officials plan to launch their operations before the end of September. AICTSL’s chief executive officer Sandeep Soni said that these 50 CNG buses are being brought in the first phase of their plan to introduce 400 CNG buses.
