Setco was shut for eight months over labour strike between 1989-1990 and had to start afresh. After being under BIFR for 14 years, it went on to become country’s largest clutch manufacturer in commercial vehicle space. Since then the company never had even one-hour of production loss due to labour issue. And also wooed the country’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer to gain a revenue share of about 60% from the company. It also mitigated the risk of instability in profitability through different measures. It is now looking to double its revenue in the next three years to Rs 1,000 crore.
