According to Eicher Trucks and Buses, this step is towards the commitment to working with customers to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation, aligned with the government's Net-Zero vision.
Designed as the next step in luxury, 16 of these coaches are planned to operate from Bengaluru and the remaining four from Mangaluru. These coaches are an addition to 357 Volvo buses already operating under the Karnataka RTC’s existing fleet, the largest Volvo Coach operator in India, the company said.
The MoUs are for Technical Training Program (TTP) and for Driver Education Program (DEP).
