They have 5 major models: SUV Duster, MPV Lodgy, premium sedan Scala, premium compact car Pulse and the latest to add on the list is the budget car Kwid. All these cars are being manufactured in Chennai with the production capacity of more than 480,000 units per annum with three shifts per day. They also export their most advanced cars. They have signed a MOU with the government of Tamil Nadu for creating a manufacturing plant in the year 2008. The first vehicle design studio of a foreign manufacturer was Renault Design India, which was established in Mumbai in the year 2008. The company has now created a benchmark by acquiring more than 200 dealerships in the country. Renault Duster has been named as one of their highest selling cars in the past two years. The company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs started in the year 2013, where they put their focus on education and road safety. The company also supported Tour De India in the same year, which is a cycling event that was held for the first time year 2012. The company’s latest addition model Kwid, is an instant hit and has been a high selling car in that version. The company also sponsored a cricket series between India and Sri Lanka where Virat Kohli won the Man of the Series Award: A Renault Duster.
