Employees in India are likely to get an average salary hike of just 9.4 per cent this year, same as last year, while key talent are expected to get appraisals of as much as 15.4 per cent as companies increase focus on performance.
Sectors such as Life Sciences, Professional Services, Chemicals, Entertainment Media, Automotive and Consumer Products continue to project a double-digit salary increase for 2017.
The rest of India Inc is projected to give out healthy 10.3% pay hikes, even though these are marginally lower than 10.6% last year, according to Aon Hewitt’s annual Salary Increase Survey 2015-16 that covered 700 companies in India.
