Fuel prices rise by Rs 8.50 per litre during peak of Covid

Starting from a price line of Rs 90.40 a litre on May 1, petrol is now priced at Rs 98.81 a litre in the national capital, rising by a sharp Rs 8.41 per litre in the last 60 days. Similarly, diesel price in the capital also rose by Rs 8.45 per litre in the past two months to reach Rs 89.18 a litre in Delhi.

EV maker Komaki opens new showroom in Delhi

According to the company, the showroom is located in the Jhandewalan area of Central Delhi and covers an area of 1,500 sq.ft. Since its opening, the dealership has sold over 120 vehicles in the first 10 days, a media release said.

Recent changes in FAME II scheme to boost demand for e-vehicles: FICCI

Commenting on the steps by the government, FICCI EV Committee Chair Sulajja Firodia Motwani said, "It is a great move from the government to revise upwards the demand incentive of electric two-wheelers from Rs 10,000 per KWh to Rs 15,000 per KWh, which FICCI also has been recommending in the past."

No RFID tag, no entry in Delhi from July 1

No commercial vehicles without valid Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags or enough recharge will be permitted to enter Delhi from July 1. South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) issued a public notice on Thursday, specifying that RFID systems have been installed at all 124 toll plazas in the city for collection of toll tax and environment compensation charges (ECC).

Delhi govt set to ask SC to review ban on old petrol, diesel vehicles in city

The Delhi government is going to approach the Supreme Court with a request to review its 2018 order prohibiting the plying of 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles in Delhi NCR in line with the Centre's new voluntary vehicle scrapping policy, which looks at the vehicle's fitness as the criteria for scrapping and not age.

Zero fatality corridor model to make 8 ‘blackspots’ safer

The zero fatality corridor is a result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Delhi government and the SaveLIFE Foundation and on Wednesday, the transport department of the Delhi government signed an addendum agreement with the foundation on road safety, extending the MoU for four more years. The agreement was signed by the special commissioner (road safety) and founder & CEO of SaveLIFE Foundation in presence of Delhi’s transport minister Kailash Gahlot.

E-Waste is a treasure trove that needs to be tapped

Metals are tough to extract as pointed out by a United Nations report It states that the total recovery rate for cobalt is 30 per cent though technology exist that could recycle 95 per cent. Notably the energy efficiency of recycled metals are two to 10 times more than metals smelted from virgin ore. So it makes sense to have effective reuse methods by ensuring a sustainable chain in manufacturing and recycling. Further, extraction provides access to rare earth metals - which are definitely to obtain - and so worth recycling. According to estimates, the worth of global E-Waste is around $62.5 billion annually.

Current fiscal may see highest number of model launches: Royal Enfield

"In fact, if I may say so, this year will probably be the highest number of new models that you have ever seen from Royal Enfield being launched in a year and that's the beginning of the pipeline.
