The new model looks inspired by the customised Scrambler model that was ridden by Chris Pratt in the Hollywood movie 'Jurassic World.' While the body work has also been carried forward from the Street Twin, the new Street Scrambler looks different with lots of minor changes.
The tie-up is likely to play a significant role in expanding the brand in emerging markets. As with KTM and Husqvarna, Bajaj Auto's plant in Chakan in Pune may turn into a manufacturing and export base for the UK brand.
KTM, in which Bajaj Auto has about 48% equity stake is said to be closing in on the Ducati brand, which is on the selling block. The announcement is likely to be made in the next two weeks.
Continuing with the same design that is common throughout the entire Panigale range, the final edition looks different with a new paint scheme. However, there is no confirmation on the India launch.
Like the nature of its motorcycles, Kawasaki is going aggressive in the Indian superbike space. After introducing the new Ninja 650, Z650 and the Z900 in the market a few months back, the Japanese auto giant has now launched the 2017 Ninja 1000 along with a stripped-down version of the Z900.
The BS-4 Ducati Scrambler, Monster 821 and Diavel will make phase-wise entries in the Indian market. Reports suggest Ducati dealers have already started bookings for the Icon and Classic variants of the upgraded Scrambler.
Scheduled for global unveiling on July 7, the final edition Ducati 1299 Panigale R will be much closer to the 1299 Superleggera in performance. While its price will be lesser than half of that of the limited edition bike.
Final edition Ducati 1299 Panigale will be a high-end iteration of the bike, painted in the tricolours of the Italian flag. The bike will be unveiled at the Laguna Seca WSB round in California on Friday 7th July.
