Vinod Sahay to lead Mahindra truck unit
Sahay, who joined Mahindra in June 2015, played a key role in holding onto market share in medium and heavy duty trucks at Tata Motors in the face of rising competition.
Mahindra Trucks & Buses Ltd was established in the year 2005 and is popularly known as Mahindra Navistar/ Mahindra International. They are Indian commercial vehicle manufacturers which was initially formed out of a joint venture between Navistar International (USA) and Mahindra & Mahindra. But now, the company has demerged into Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and has become a separate division. The company has its headquarters in Chinchwad which is in Pune. The company manufactures auto parts and accessories. They also provide spare parts, engines, truck parts and various other accessories. The company has taken their performance to the next level by creating trucks that are specially designed for different applications and excellent performance whenever needed. The company offers an entire line of integrated truck solutions that help their customers in generating profit by giving their customers an advantage of quick turnaround time and reliability along with the assurance of their excellence in all aspects. Their HCV product range has been engineered for all sort of Indian requirements with the philosophy of "Made in India, made for India". In the HCV segment, the company has achieved the goal of more than 24000 trucks on the road. The company is planning of addressing evert segment of their commercial vehicle market with variants that meet the needs of passenger transport, cargo and specialized load applications. Their new range of medium and heavy commercial vehicle is being manufactured at the new green field at Chakan. This plant covers more than 700 acres and has been built with an investment of more than Rs 4,000 crore and is also producing other Mahindra products. This has helped the company with the benefit of synergies of an integrated manufacturing facility. The company now has more than 120 authorized service centres with more than 2900 roadside assistance points. Their spares network of 2069 retail outlets has helped improve the reach of support for customers on critical trucking routes.
