Steering mounted controls

In the past couple of decades, more and more functions have been migrating from their traditional positions on the console or dashboard onto the steering wheel. These multi-function steering wheels improve driving safety by putting the most commonly used controls right at the driver's fingertips. Cruise control, Sound system controls and Phone answering are some of them. Some cars go even further by adding controls for air conditioning, a steering wheel heater, or even access to an on-board computer.
