GST Reduction: Expectations and Reactions of auto industry

August 13, 2019, 11:44 ISTWith the much-anticipated tax reduction proposal, GST Council decided to cut down GST on electric vehicles (EVs) to 5 per cent from 12 per cent. The new rates will be effective from August 1, 2019. The Council also slashed the GST on EV Chargers from 18 per cent to 5 per cent.
