Here are the auto companies who are betting big in the EV space

Audi: e-tron concept; A3 Sportback e-tron; Q7 e-tron

The German auto giant and luxury carmaker, Audi, has entered the EV space with an ‘e-tron’ concept model at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017.
Prior to that, the automaker has launched the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron and the Audi Q7 e-tron in 2016.


The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron is powered by a 75kW lithium-ion battery, which has a capacity of 8,8 kWh, and it churns out 110Ps of power and 350Nm off torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox. Charging the A3 Sportback e-tron at home with a 3-pin plug charger takes upto 5 hours.


The Audi Q7 e-tron quattro is the first plug-in hybrid vehicle from the automaker. The Q7 e-tron quattro hybrid is powered by a 3.0L TDI V6 diesel engine with exhaust turbocharger which produces 259Ps of power and 600Nm of torque; and comes mated to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission. Also, it is equipped with a 275kW battery pack with a capacity of 17.3kWh.
