All New Q7 - Audi's flagship SUV gets a new identity

Audi, the German luxury automaker, recently brought its flagship SUV Q7 to India in an all new avatar.

The looks might have changed, but the demeanour, and the attitude - those are going nowhere in a hurry.
At the front, new Q7 gets a sculpturally moulded Singleframe grille with a solid frame. The Matrix headlamps gives it a completely new look.
Audi Q7 offers the progressive Matrix LED technology with the double-arrow styled daytime running lights.

According to Audi, Each Matrix LED headlight divides its high beam into 30 individual light-emitting diodes paired with three reflectors. The control unit, which communicates with the camera on the rear view mirror, can switch the individual diodes off and on and dim them in 64 stages as needed. Strength of the Matrix LED headlights is the cornering light, which is created by a shift in the light center position. With millions of different resultant beam patterns, the Matrix LED headlights always superbly light up the road, without dazzling other road users.
At the launch, Audi displayed Q7's off roading capabilities. The pic here shows the Q7 standing still at about 30 degrees tilt.

As for safety, Q7 will have Electronic stabilisation control, ABS, Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) & electronic differential lock (EDL).
The self-locking center differential – the heart of the quattro all-wheel drive system – is integrated into the housing of eight-speed tiptronic transmission.
The Q7 gets adaptive air suspension, both in front and the rear. With Audi Drive Select, the driver can switch between 7 different driving modes.
Q7 comes with all the bells and whistles that you expect from an top-of-the-ladder Audi. To list a few, it is equipped with leather covered four-spoke multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles , auto park assist; 360 degree surround camera with birds eye view; four deluxe automatic air conditioning; BOSE 3D sound system with 19 speakers, fully digital instrument cluster, and the list goes on
Q7 gets ample space for the rear seat passengers - leg, shoulder and headroom. The seats are wrapped in genuine cricket leather.
The third row though, isn't as comfy when it comes to space. Though two adults could manage for shorter distances, it is best suited only for kids.
The second and the third row can be folded in different ways making the right amount of space that is needed for the stuff.
Total luggage space of 1,955 liters can be obtained by folding the second row seats which splits in the ratio of 35:30:35 for flexibility of the storage space. The powerful V6 45 TDI (3.0 TDI) engine churns out 249 hp (183 kW) of power and 600 Nm of torque which takes the new Audi Q7 from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.1 seconds with a top speed of 234 kmph.

It is not only faster than its predecessor, the new Q7 is 22 percent more fuel efficient giving 14.75 km to a litre.
With all that is new and improved in the Q7, no wonder India's Test captain Virat Kohli, who is also the brand ambassador for Audi, can't take his eyes off this new avatar.

The all-new Audi Q7 range starts from Rs 72 lakh and the fully-loaded top-end variant is priced at Rs 77.5 lakh
