Cars to drool over at 2016 Detroit Auto Show

The all-new Ford GT is one of more than 12 Ford Performance vehicles coming by 2020.

Beginning production in late 2016, it features rear-wheel drive, a mid-mounted engine, and a sleek, aerodynamic, two-door coupe body shell.

It is propelled by the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever – a next-generation twin - turbocharged EcoBoost V6 producing more than 600 horsepower.
This Subaru Impreza 5-door Concept was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show 2016.

It expresses compact functionality in modern, tightly drawn lines and a purposeful stance.

Flowing from the hexagonal grille through the sculpted side panels to the defined shoulders of the rear hatch, the Subaru styling cues signal a sporty and practical "Wide & Low" design.
Two titans of the auto industry - US executive Bob Lutz and Danish designer Henrik Fisker - joined forces to build high-end, limited-edition American sports cars.

They launched two super-cars, one of them being Force 1, with the aim of taking on big names like Ferrari, Maserati and Aston Martin.

The F1 is equipped with a roaring 745 horsepower, V10 engine. It is made with carbon fiber and inspired by the Dodge Viper, but with a more plush interior.

This limited edition vehicle will be priced just under $300,000.

The 2017 911 Turbo S promise 20 horsepower more than before and have faster top track speed - 7 mph faster, which now clocks in at 205 mph.

Porsche says the heightened power and performance comes with increased fuel efficiency, but adds EPA ratings aren't yet available.

It will go on sale stateside in April. Oliver Blume, board chairman of the German automaker, says one in three 911s are sold in America. The Turbo S at $188,100.

Lincoln debuted Continental as a concept car at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The production car keeps most of the concept design cues, including the unique door handles. Using tech wizardry, the Continental doesn't have a physical door handle release mechanism.

A button triggers a door popper to open the door while actuators enable a soft-close function, which automatically secures the door closed. Powering the Continental is a 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 that's not shared with any Ford model.

Lincoln expects power output of the motor at 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, but the Continental still rides on a front-wheel drive-based platform.

Kia debuted a minor update to the Forte sedan. The car gets an infotainment system upgrade.

Standard on the 2017 Kia Forte and Forte 5 is a 7-inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

Driver assist features available on the Forte include: autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

The Kia Forte sedan receives an engine upgrade to a 2.0-liter four cylinder that replaces the previous 1.8-liter on base models.

Nissan's concept is based on a production car with off-road focused modifications.

The Titan Warrior concept is an adventure-ready pickup truck with desert racing-inspired design.

Starting with a production Titan XD, the truck was raised 3 inches, widened 3 inches on each side, and equipped with 37-inch, off-road tires for expanded terrain capabilities.

Powering the Titan Warrior concept is the Cummins 5.0-liter V8 turbo diesel.

The 2017 version of the Infiniti Q60 sports coupe offers powerful performance with a 3.0-liter, V-6 twin-turbo engine that's available in 300 or 400 horsepower variations.

A four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine that's turbo-charged to produce 208 hp also is available. It goes on sale this summer. Inside, the base model features aluminum trim. A black wood option is available.

Higher-end models are available with carbon-fiber highlights. White or red leather seating also is available.

Honda showcased its second-generation Ridgeline pickup truck, which comes equipped with 540-watt sound system.

The Ridgeline features a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine and will be available for the first time in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

The Ferrari 488 GTB comes equipped with 7 gears F1 dual clutch transmission.

It churns out maximum power of 493 kW at 8000rpm, and a maximum torque of 760 Nm at 3000rpm.

A new colour, Rosso Corsa Metallizzato has been developed.
The rear-wheel drive, high performance sports coupe is a first for BMW's famed M line in the automaker's 2-Series.

The M2 offers a 3-liter, 6-cylinder engine producing 365 horsepower. BMW says it can go from 0-62 in 4.3 seconds and offers a top track speed off about 155 mph.

Design features include a double-slatted grill that complements the double-spoke style of the light-alloy wheels.

The Audi A4 Allroad Quattro, which is due to go on sale in the UK from summer this year, will comes in diesel and petrol variants.

The diesel one will accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds, while the petrol one will cover the same distance in 6.1 seconds.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio has an all-aluminum 90-degree 2.9 liter Bi-Turbo V6 engine that delivers class-leading 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm; it launches from 0-60 in a class-leading 3.8 seconds and achieves top speeds of 191 miles per hour.
The Precision concept is sculpted with sharp edges and a giant, in-your-face Acura badge up front.

The interior is screaming "cool," with a curved, ultra-wide display mounted high and center on the dashboard for the infotainment system.

Acura believes that the future human-machine interface (HMI) will have the ability to scan each occupant in the car to load their personalised settings for music, maps and vehicle performance.

GM added a new 194-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor, plus an available 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6.

The Acadia gives the driver a visual reminder near the speedometer to check the rear seats, so as not to leave children or valuables behind.

The 2016 Volkswagen Passat will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine will churn out 132 kW @ 5100-6200 rpm of power.

While, the diesel engine will have a maximum power of 140 kW @ 3500-4000 rpm.

The petrol engine will accelerate 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, while for diesel the time will be 7.7 seconds.
