Complete look of India bound VW Tiguan revealed

Volkswagen unveiled India bound new generation SUV Tiguan at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. The German auto major will launch the SUV in India next year. At the unveiling, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess said the vehicle is a "proof of the strength of the Volkswagen" brand. Here's the complete look of the compact SUV.
The new Tiguan will come in four variants. The production versions being presented at the Motor Show are Tiguan R-Line, the on-road model and an off-road version tuned specifically for off-road use. The Tiguan GTE is a concept vehicle with a plug-in hybrid drive (160 kW / 218 PS of system power).

A range of eight engines is available in the compact SUV; they have power outputs ranging between 85 kW / 115 PS and 176 kW / 240 PS. It is up to 24 per cent more fuel-efficient than those of the previous model.
The boot volume of the new Tiguan can take on up to 615 litres of cargo (loaded to the back of the rear bench); when the rear seat backrests are folded, its capacity increases to 1,655 litres. This represents a gain of 145 litres.
All of today's smartphones of the Apple and Android worlds have been integrated into the functionality of the infotainment systems via App Connect, and even tablets become an integral part of the automobile via the Media Control app.
It comes equipped with Front Assist with City Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Monitoring, Lane Assist and the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System.
Online services open up new service dimensions such as automatic accident notification, online traffic and parking space info, and vehicle status report.
The new 4MOTION Active Control lets drivers adjust the all-wheel drive system more individually and easier to all possible driving conditions. It has been engineered for trailer loads of up to 2,500 kg.
Launched in 2007, the Tiguan is the company's third most popular brand after the Golf and Polo. The new Tiguan will also be an environmentally sustainable one as it is also being offered in plug in hybrid option as well, Diess added.
