Datsun RediGo: Meet the new Alto Competitor

Nissan on Thursday launched the third Datsun model, RediGo. Here is a quick walk around the the car.
Strong lines are a defining characteristic of the car. The line from the tail lamp down the side of the car stands out.
RediGo is looking to take on Maruti Alto, the highest selling car in India for quite a few years
The hexagonal grill dominates the face of the car. The pulled back headlamps add to the sporty look.

Notice the silver insert on the bumper. Tells you a bit about its aspiration of how it wants to be perceived.
The rear of the car adds to the tall boy design that RediGo has.
Simple tail lamp design somehow manages to gel well with the overall flamboyant design
The family design is visible in the headlamp as well

The hatchback has a ground clearance of 185mm
The car will be powered by the same 0.8 litre engine since earlier on Renault Kwid, a hatchback from its alliance partner Renault.
The blue daytime running lights on the bumper look good.
The interior is a simple no-frill place to be in.
The top variant will come with driver side airbag.
The power window switches for the front windows is located between the seats.

The bench seat, that we have seen on Go and Go+, has been shelved in RediGo.
Apart from the glove box, there is space on top of it as well. The music system, it seems, comes with a remote control

The car is slated for launch during first week of June, however the pre-bookings will commence from May 1

The company also informed that Redi-Go will be open for various customisation options, and will be sold through over 200 Nissan-Datsun showrooms and 49 stand-alone outlets
The boot looks spacious enough to take a big and a small bag.
