Ekonk: All you need to know about India’s lightweight electric hypercar

An EV startup founded in 2015, Vazirani Automotive will unveil its electric car ‘Ekonk’ on October 25, 2021. The company’s CEO has also launched India’s first hypercar concept, ‘Shul’ at the Goodwood Festival in the U.K.

According to Vazirani Automotive, Ekonk is a single-seater. It comes with a magnificent design, chic body, and spaceship looking body. It is claimed to be the fastest accelerating and one of the most fluid cars aerodynamically, in the world.

The battery in the hypercar is claimed to be a Solid State cooling battery, which comes with the DiCo technology. It is said to enable the batteries to cool directly with the air, as opposed to needing liquid cooling.

Weighing 738kgs with a full carbon fibre body, Enako claims to give a power output of 722hp. The startup noted that it has developed the vehicle end-to-end and tested it at the recently inaugurated Naxtrax high-speed facility near Indore where it achieved a top speed of 309 kmpl.

The startup said Ekonk in the Indian scriptures, signifies the beginning of the divine light. “For us, Ekonk signifies our real beginning, where for the first time design and innovation comes together. It’s our first vehicle that’s ‘alive’,” said Chunky Vazirani, Founder and CEO of Vazirani-Automotive.
