Exterior and Interior images of newly launched Chevrolet Trailblazer

American automaker General Motors had launched its full sized SUV Chevrolet Trailblazer on October 21 at a price of Rs 26.4 lakh (Ex showroom Delhi).

Bookings for the same has already begun from October 21 at an amount of Rs 25,000.

Trailblazer will be imported from Thailand through the CBU route.

Trailblazer will be available in seven exterior colours - Summit white, Sizzle red, Switchblade silver, Blue mountain, Black sapphire, Satin steel grey, and Auburn brown.

Interiors will have Premium Dual Tone Athos Beige and Charcoal Black Wraparound Theme.

Some of its safety features are:

1. Electronic Stability Control (ESC)-Monitors any loss of traction and takes action to stop skidding.

2. Anti Lock Braking Syatem (ABS)-Prevents wheels from locking during sudden or forceful braking

3. Tracking Control System (TCS)-Regains control when traction on the road surface is lost

4. Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)-Applies the right amount of braking pressure to each wheel to maximise stopping power and maintain control

5. Double frontal airbags

6. Pre tensioner seatbelts-In the event of a collision, it reduces the movement passengers experience.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer also comes with Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).

With HDC, As the vehicle proceeds down a steep slope, the system will have the engine and the brake working in unison in order to automatically limit the speed of the vehicle to make the descent much safer.

And on activating HSA, the vehicle gets prevented from rolling in the time between releasing the brake and applying the accelerator when moving from a stationary position uphill.

With a 7 inch touchscreen and control buttons embedded on the steering wheel, connectivity with your smartphone becomes easier.

Stitcher Smart Radio app customises entertainment. Set favourites and they will be updated.

Making and taking calls becomes safer with Bluetooth hands free calling.

1. Movies and photos can easily be viewed with USB and AUX connections.

2. With Siri Eyes Free app, notifications and important texts regarding bumpy roads are received. With Siri, calls can also be made across any terrain.

This 7 seater SUV has a 6 way electric adjustment for driver seat, 4 way adjustable front passenger seat, front reclining bucket seats, and front and rear seat head restraints.

It also features 60:40 split double folding 2nd row seats with recline function, and 50:50 split collapsible 3rd row seats.

Trailblazer has a maximum cargo space of 1,830 liters.

Apart from this, it has dual glovebox, sunglass holder, Bottle and cup holders, and coat, shopping and net hooks.

Sticking to the traditional way of making SUVs, Chevy Trailblazer has a body-on-frame chassis.

It is going to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero. After Captiva and Forester, this is GM's third shot in the SUV segment.
