Explore the Complete Look of Skoda's First SUV - The Kodiaq

Skoda Kodiaq celebrated its world premiere on 1 September 2016 in Berlin.

The Paris Motor Show at the start of October will be the large SUV’s international motor show debut – its market launch is scheduled for the first half of 2017.
“With the Kodiaq, Skoda is entering a new, globally fast-growing market segment - the large-SUV category. The company intends to attract new customer groups, expand their market share and strengthen their position on the global markets,” says Dr Guido Haak, Head of Product Management at Skoda Auto.
The interior is characterised by bold vertical elements, such as the four large air vents.

The large display splits the instrument panel into two equal sections for the driver and passenger.
The large display has a glass design with 'Simply Clever' operation - logical and intuitive.
Two additional seats are available on request for the third row - it is the first seven-seater in the brand's history.
With a volume capacity of 720 to 2,065 l (with rear seats folded), it offers the largest boot in its class.
With Kodiaq, Skoda is entering a new market segment that is growing quickly across the world - the large SUV class.
There will be a choice of five engines: two TDIs and three TSIs. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine provides a power output of 132 kW (180 PS).

A range of technology is available for the transmission - six-speed manual gearbox, DSG transmission, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The company says that Kodiaq has a powerful exterior with distinct three-dimensional lines, elegant appearance thanks to clear interior lines and largest boot of its class, optional foldable third row.
The side and rear views are crisp: the doors are athletically shaped and the tailgate is expressively sculptured.
In combination with the narrow, raked headlights, which are available with full-LED technology for the first time, the brand’s first large SUV shine in the Skoda-typical C-shape.
The infotainment elements originate from Volkswagen Group's second-generation Modular Infotainment Matrix.

The eCall emergency button, which will be required for all new cars in Europe from 2018, is already now part of the Care Connect service.
The Area View cameras, new for Skoda, display the car's immediate surroundings on the monitor.

When a trailer is attached to the large SUV, the Tow Assist system takes over maneuvering when reversing slowly.

The new predictive pedestrian protection function complements Front Assist.

Parking Distance Control with braking function, also new, provides support with parking maneuvers - the Skoda Kodiaq brakes automatically as soon as it detects an obstacle.
"Our new Skoda Kodiaq SUV is a great all-rounder," said Skoda CEO, Bernhard Maier.

"It combines an active sense of vitality with the brand's classic qualities - a high degree of functionality and an outstanding amount of space. In addition, with its emotive design, the Skoda Kodiaq is a strong presence on the road."
The name Kodiaq refers to the Kodiak bear that lives on the homonymous island off the southern coast of Alaska; its spelling is derived from the language of the indigenous people - the Alutiiq.
