KUV100 complete look- After 'Tough', Mahindra launches 'Kool' utility Vehicle

Unfazed by the recent Supreme Court ruling to ban all diesel cars and SUV above 2000cc, Mahindra is moving forward with its plans and products for Indian market.

The homegrown automaker on Friday launched its Sub-compact SUV KUV100 at Rs 4.42 lakh (ex-Pune), the price of which goes up to Rs 6.76 lakh for the top diesel variant.
The KUV100 will take on the likes of hot selling Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Swift DZire. It might not be the same vehicle segment, but the starting price of Rs 4.42 lakh for petrol and Rs 5.22 for diesel puts Kuv100 in the same price bracket.
Mahindra KUV100 stands taller than all its intended competition. With roof rails, its height is 1655mm which is much more than 1520mm of Grand i10 and 1530 of Maruti Swift.

Its overall length of 3675mm, width is 1715mm, and wheelbase is 2385. While width is more than the competition, length and the wheelbase are not.
Mahindra KUV100 also comes with a six seater option. With the gear lever placed on the dashboard, there is space between the driver and co-passenger seat. Mahindra has made use of it by fitting a third seat.
Mahindra has spent Rs 500 crore for the design development and manufacturing of KUV100. LG Engineering has worked for the interiors of the micro SUV.
With KUV100, Mahindra will introduce new range of "mFalcon" aluminium-block engines, which includes 1.2-liter three cylinder petrol (mFalcon G80) and 1.2-liter three-cylinder diesel (mFalcon D75) engines.

The dual VVT petrol unit gives outputs of 82 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm, while the diesel engine produces 77 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 190 Nm torque between 1,750-2,250 rpm.
KUV100 will be available in four variants: Base (K2 & K2+), Mid (K4 & K4+) , High (K6 & K6+), and top end (K8). As for safety features, ABS with EBD will be standard fitment, while K2+, K4+, K6+, and K8 variants will have airbags
The KUV100 will be available in 7 exciting colors of Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, Dazzling Silver, Aquamarine, Pearl White, Designer Grey and Midnight Black
