Lexus LC 500h: All you need to know

Luxury car brand, Lexus is ready to launch the all-new LC 500h in India next year, which has already been launched in 68 countries globally. The luxury coupe is going to be India’s first hybrid in the segment, if no other brand drives in a product in this segment till then.

The LC 500h stuns you with its good looks. The overall design is based on the new GA- L platform. The axis of the underbody lies below the top of the tires, emphasizing the low centre of gravity and making it aerodynamic.

In this car, the hybrid system is placed behind the rear seat and above the fuel tank which helps in spreading the weight evenly and also help in lowering the centre of gravity of the car.

The headlamp of LC 500h is carved beautifully into an L-shape. There are three projected headlamps and a day running light which enhance the overall appeal. The vertically arranged lamps at the outermost edge of the bumper corners highlight the boldness of the vehicle.

Most of the switch commands in LC 500h are placed on or around the steering area. This makes it easily accessible for the driver while having less distraction. To avoid any confusion on the center, the air-conditioning and infotainment switches are clearly separated.

A single 8-inch Thin Film Transfer (TFT) meter dial ring is used to display engine and road speed (RPM) which can be moved horizontally. It can also become a multi-information display such as driving modes, using a steering mounted switch.

The interior of LC 500h is available in single and double tone while the dual-tone has different variations that a buyer can choose. Talking about space, in the front row you have ample space and comfort while in the rear it is very tough to accommodate adults as there is no ample legroom.

The taillight is placed at the outermost side of the bumper. It is arranged vertically wrapped around with chrome forming a T-shape or eyelet. The overall curves at the back and presence of chrome wrap on the silencer moving across the lower part also gives it a sporty look.

The LC 500h is powered by 3.5 L V6 gasoline engine with two electric motors generating 295 horsepower at 6600 rpm and 348 Nm of torque @ 4900 rpm. The car has a 10-speed transmission system to collaborate as a multistage hybrid system.

The car has a Torsen high-capacity torque-sensing limited-slip differential that distributes power evenly to the rear wheels which further enhances the ride quality.
