Maruti Baleno enters the arena, check out how stiff is the competition
The car will be competing with the likes of Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
Lets have a look at where exactly Maruti Baleno stands when it comes to its competitors.
The petrol version has five variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and CVT. They are priced between Rs 4.99 - 6.76 lakh.
The diesel version do not have CVT variant. Diesel variants are prived between Rs 6.16 - 8.11 lakh.

The petrol engine has a maximum power of 62 kW @ 6,000 rpm, whereas for diesel engine it is 55.2 kW @ 4,000 rpm.
Petrol version produces maximum torque of 115 Nm @ 4,000 rpm, while the diesel is good at producing 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm.
Petrol version has a fuel efficiency of 21.4 Km/l, and the diesel one has 27.39 Km/l.
It has a 60:40 rear split seat. Apart from this, it features front doors bottle holder, front floor console, and arm rest storage console.
For safety, Baleno has dual front airbags, anti pinch power window, ABS, and front seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters.
The petrol version has seven variants - E, S, SV, V, VX, S CVT, and V CVT. They are priced between Rs 5.30 - 7.85 lakh.
The diesel version do not have CVT variants. Diesel variants are prived between Rs 6.49 - 8.59 lakh.
The petrol version has an engine capacity of 1,199 cc, while the diesel one has 1,498 cc.
The petrol engine has a maximum power of 90 ps @ 6,000 rpm, whereas for diesel engine it is 100 ps @ 3,600 rpm.
Petrol version produces maximum torque of 110 Nm @ 4,800 rpm, while the diesel is good at producing 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm.

It has six variants - Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O), Asta, and Asta (O). They are priced between Rs 5.36 - 8.30 lakh.

Both the versions has three variants - TL, CL, and HL. They are priced between Rs 4.99 - 7.37 lakh.
The petrol version has an engine capacity of 1,198 cc, while the diesel one has 1,498 cc.
The petrol engine has a maximum power of 55 kW @ 5,400 rpm, whereas for diesel engine it is 66 kW @ 4,200 rpm.
Petrol version produces maximum torque of 110 Nm @ 3,750 rpm, while the diesel is good at producing 230 Nm @ 1,500-2,500 rpm.

It has storage compartment in front doors, ambient lights, black interior theme, and glovebox cooling.
For safety, Polo has dual front airbags, ABS, anti pinch power windows, and electronic engine immobiliser with floating code.
