Popular vehicle and two wheeler launches in 2016

Caught in the middle of a raging storm against bigger diesel sports utility vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra launched an all new micro-SUV, the KUV 100 for Rs 4.42 lakh - Rs 6.76 lakh (ex showroom Pune).

Mahindra KUV100's sales stand at 38,208 units.

Bajaj V 15, which sits between Discover and Pulsar range of motorcycles, is made out of the metal retrieved from INS Vikrant after it was sent for dismantling.

The metal has been melted and reshaped to manufacture the tank of the V and will be used till the metal stock lasts.

Bajaj V 15 has sold 192,830 (deliveries started from March).
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched a "new segment" Navi at the Auto Expo 2016.

Priced at Rs 39,500 (ex showroom Delhi), Navi is the first 100% Honda R&D India model - from concept development to commercial production.

It sold a total of 51,324 units (deliveries started from April).

It is the first grounds up motorcycle from Royal Enfield after Eicher Motor took over the British brand.

Tata Motors launched its much awaited hatchback Tiago at an aggressive introductory price of Rs 3.2 lakh - Rs 5.54 lakh (ex showroom Delhi.

Priced Rs 80,000 lower than Maruti Suzuki Celerio and about Rs 50,000 lower than Hyundai i10 and Rs 1.2 lakh lower than Grand i10, Tiago is the first all new car from Tata Motors since Nano.

It sold 37,823 units.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the much awaited next generation of Innova, its successful MPV, named Innova Crysta at a starting price of Rs 13,83,677.

During May, Crysta outsold Hyundai Creta in passenger vehicle sales.

It sold 52,221 units.
Honda Cars India entered the race for entry-level SUVs with the BR-V. The BR-V is pitted against the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. Its year-to-date sales stood at 15,219 units.
Ameo is Volkswagen India's first sub 4-metre sedan. Launched for Rs 5.1 lakh (ex showroom Mumbai), the car compete with the likes of Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
