The Auto Expo: Components Show was all about innovation and creativity

The Components Show 2016, which celebrated 30 years of the expo, focused on two main aspects - technological innovation, and creativity.

The talk of the town was definitely 'Make in India'. Anand Group showcased the Make in India lion and in it perfectly captured all its component products.
Even Sandhar Technologies showcased Make in India lion at its pavilion.

The company, which first started as a sheet metal supplier for Hero (formerly Hero Honda), now manufactures products a range of products.

Starting from lock kits, rear view mirrors to clutch and brake assemblies, Sandhar has everything in its kitty; as depicted in the lion.
Sona Koyo displayed this stylish bright red car, at their pavilion, to show their steering systems.

Sona Koyo Steering Systems reported 37.35 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 4.46 crore for the December quarter of the current fiscal.

The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 7.12 crore in the October-December quarter of last fiscal, 2014-15.

The auto components maker recently announced its plans to launch next fiscal the power steering technology for small tractors in the domestic market.
Manufacturer of high tensile cold forged fasteners Sterling Tools Limited beautifully portrayed its logo using its product.

Sterling Tools reported a standalone total income from operations of Rs 88.28 crore and a net profit of Rs 6.78 crore for the quarter ended Dec 2015.
The CK Birla Group's engine and transmission manufacturing unit Avtec showed BS VI ready petrol and diesel engines for passenger vehicles developed in collaboration with Peugeot Citroen.

Avtec has also licensed diesel engines that have a capacity of less than 2000 cc.

Mitsui Prime Advanced Composites India displayed this car. The car showed different components where Mitsui's polypropylene compounds are used.

Such compounds are generally used in Heater Cases, Lamp Housings, Bumper Fascias, Instrument Panels, Interiors Trims, Interior Pillar Trims, Scuff Plates, etc.
Ludhiana, Punjab based Rajnish Industries, displayed a CRDi system at their pavilion.

Most of the auto part makers are upbeat at the prospects of becoming players in the global markets, matching world standards to meet exacting demands of automobile manufacturers who are under pressure to upgrade emission and safety norms.
With this display, the company showed its main product line - wiring harness.

Motherson Sumi net profit in the third quarter of FY2016 increased by 21 percent. The Indian auto component major clocked Rs 307 crore in net profit last quarter as compared to Rs 254 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY2015.
For the first time, the Components show, witnessed an ‘Innovation Pavilion’. The ‘Innovation Pavilion’ had 13 companies showcasing their latest technologies and innovation in the field of automotive components.

One of them being Wheels India which displayed forged aluminium wheels - 60% lighter than steel.

The 'Innovation Pavilion' focused on light weight technology.
The Anand Group displayed technologies such as exhaust gas re-circulation, selective catalytic reduction, diesel particulate filters and advanced high-strength bearing materials required to meet BS VI norms.

"Investments will be made progressively over the next three years in these companies in line with market demand," an Anand Group spokesperson told ETAuto.
