While Maruti Suzuki Swift had a 25% increase in sales in May 2014, as compared to May 2013. Hyundai Eon sales declined 25%. Four cars also entered the list.

Maruti WagonR jumped to second position with a massive hike of 82% in its sales in June 2014. The car sold 17, 119 units in June 2014, as compared to 9, 395 in June 2013.

Maruti Suzuki's compact sedan Swift Dzire reclaimed the passenger car sales crown for July, outpacing the company's hatchback Alto, whose sales almost halved from June.

The Honda Amaze has fallen off the list of India's top 10 cars by sales for the first time since May, with its September volume falling to less than half from the previous month.

Maruti Swift even after getting 37% decrease in October 2014 sales, continued to retain position in the top four slots. Korean carmaker Hyundai's Grand i10 sales fell to 8, 400.

Maruti Celerio, which comes with an AMT technology, has seen a fall in sales since August 2014. It dropped to the last spot on the top 10 list with 4,926 units sold in November 2014.

Some car sales witnessed growth as low as 1% and some as high as 16% in December 2014.

Maruti Suzuki sedan Ciaz has returned to the top 10 selling cars list in January 2015 with a sales of 6005 units ranked at 10th position while its arch rival and segment leader Honda City sustained at the 7th spot by selling 7671 units recording a growth of 28% compared to 6012 units of sales in the previous month.

Celerio which has gone out of the list in January has made a comeback with sales of 6772 units in February. Honda Cars India also sold more number of Amaze than the bigger model in the list - City.

Half of the top 10 car models in India by sales posted lower numbers in March over a year earlier. The trend shows that the bigger models are doing better than entry-level and compact hatchbacks.

Despite much excitement around the utility vehicles only one model Mahindra Bolero could feature in the list of top 10 selling passenger vehicles list that too with a de-growth of over -6% in sales.

Hyundai Motor India's compact sedan Xcent entered the list after a gap of seven months. Half of the top 10 car models posted higher numbers in April over the same month a year earlier. The rise, ranging from 14% to as much as 186%, highlights the growth that has started entering the nation's auto market.

Hyundai Xcent witnessed a sharp fall in its sales in May 2015. With 37% decline, Xcent came down to tenth position, from sixth of May 2014.
