Three new stars for the Three-pointed star - Mercedes' New Launches

Mercedes Benz on Thursday launched three new models - S 500 Coupe, AMG S 63 Coupe and AMG G 63 'Crazy Colour' Edition. With the new AMG, the count of these performance oriented versions has gone up to eight in India.
The S 500 Coupe has been priced at Rs 2 crore ex-showroom Delhi, whereas the performance version, the S 63 AMG coupe, has been priced at Rs 2.6 crore. The refreshed luxury SUV, AMG G 63 'Crazy Colour' Edition, will be available from Rs 2.17 crore.

While the S 500 Coupe and S 63 AMG both have quite a similar profile, the latter gets the differentiation in the form of sporty body kit and carbon fibre treatment on the inside

Lightweight construction has reduced the vehicle weight by 65 kilograms – even though the car has a higher output and more extensive standard equipment. The reduced weight improves driving dynamics and cuts fuel consumption. The AMG S 63 Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

The coupe comes with AMG exclusive nappa leather with piping and AMG badges on all four seat backrests, together with the embossed AMG emblem on the armrest of the front centre console

In the S class coupe, there is limited space at the rear for passengers, making it a car best for only two at a time.

However, the boot space is more than enough for a long-weekend getaway.

The S 500 Coupé is available with a 4663 cc V8 engine and has a rated output of 455 hp @ 5250 - 5500 RPM and its torque level peaks at 700 NM @ 1800 - 3500 rpm. THe AMG S 63 Coupe, on the other hand gets a 5461cc V8 engine which has an output of 585hp @ 5500 rpm

Mercedes-Benz launched the exclusive ‘designo’ platform; customer can choose exclusive paints, high quality interior appointments, trims and features. The third launch by Mercedes Benz on the day was AMG G 63 'Crazy Colour' Edition. G63 AMG was first launched in India in February 2013.

The three new colour schemes which were launched on Thursday have been named Solar Beam, Sunset Beam and the Alien Green.
Here we see G 63 AMG in its sunset beam shade.

Apart from the colour additions, G 63 receives no changes at all to either the exterior, interiors or the performance.

Apart from the Sunset Beam colour, G 63 AMG was also displayed in the Alien Green colour scheme

Enhancement to the interior comprises 'designo' leather in black, AMG carbon fibre trim and the AMG performance steering wheel.

G 63 AMG might be among the biggest, most luxurious SUVs on Indian roads, but it is not too big rear legroom.

A six-foot tall person's knees might touch the front seat, with the front seat adjusted according to his or her own height

The G 63 gets a colour -coordinated interior stitching matching the external hue of the SUV. The coloured stitching features on the seats, centre console and dashboard, as well as on the handbrake and beltlines and grab handles on the doors.

G 63 AMG is designed to take to you to some of the most remotest landscapes. The decent boot space will ensure that you can carry enough luggage to sustain you for numerous days away from civilisation

The 5.5 litre supercharged AMG engine powers this SUV and boasts of a rated output of 544 hp and a maximum torque of 760 Nm.

Every AMG engine is built by hand from start to finish by just one person. After the assembly is completed, the maker gets to put his or her name plate with a signature, on to the engine
