Top 10 Cars and UVs sold in 2018

Among the top ten selling passenger vehicles of the year 2018, Maruti Suzuki's seven models made their place while remaining three were taken by Hyundai. Also, in 2018, two out of ten models witnessed a decline in sales as compared to 2017.

Maruti’s largest selling mini car, Alto surpassed Dzire and become top selling car of the year 2018. The sales for Alto stood at 256,661 units.

Dzire, which was reported as top selling model for the period April-December in FY19, was pushed to second position after cumulative sales of 251,853 units in 2018. This model witnessed highest growth rate as the sales increased 26.6 per cent year-on-year.

Third position was sealed to Suzuki’s Swift by selling 223,630 units in 2018.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno took the fourth position after recording an y-o-y increase of 7.8 per cent to 210,236 units in 2018.

At fifth position, Brezza witnessed 5 per cent year-on-year increase at 155,466 units last year against domestic sales of 147,949 units in CY17.

Maruti's WagonR retained its sixth position to 152,020 units sold in CY18. The domestic sales for this car stood at 150,191 units in 2017.

At seventh position, Hyundai entered top 10 selling passenger vehicles of 2018 by selling 141,104 units of Elite i20.

Hyundai's Grand i10 registered the sales of 134,249 units in 2018, a decline of 2.6 per cent from 137,883 units sold in 2017.

Hyundai's Creta grabbed 9th position after the sales of 120,905 units last year as against 120,619 units sold in 2017.

Maruti Suzuki's Celerio ranked at 10th position with 100,957 units sold in 2018.
