The legendary 'Amby' was in production between 1958 to 2014. Mostly preferred by government officials and later taxi owners, the Ambassador was based on the Morris Oxford series III model, first made by Morris Motors Limited.

Hyundai with its entry to the India car market launched Santro. The first tall boy hatchback car was runaway success. The car was later discontinued in 2014. It further anticipated that the car make its entry back in 2018
India's largest utility vehicle manufacturer made its mark with Jeep now known as Thar. The SUV was manufactured under licence of the Willys Jeep.
Gypsy was first manufactured in December 1985. it is a four-wheel-drive vehicle based on the long wheelbase Suzuki Jimny SJ40/410 series. It was most preferred vehicle of the Indian Army.
