Top 10 Selling Two Wheelers in April 2016

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's 125cc Activa continued to be the highest selling two wheeler in the country for fourth consecutive month.

In April 2016, it sold 2,33,935 units as against 1,73,087 units during April 2015. It registered sales growth of 35 percent.

During October 2015 also, Honda Activa witnessed year-on-year sales growth of 35 percent and was placed at the topmost position.
Hero MotoCorp's best selling motorcycle Splendor was the second most bought two wheeler in India during April 2016.

It sold 2,24,238 units last month as against 1,97,063 units during same month last year.

When compared with April 2015, it dropped one position down to second and recorded 14 percent growth.
Hero MotoCorp's HF Deluxe continue to be the third most selling two wheeler in India for seventh consecutive month during April 2016.

Earlier this was the domain of Hero Passion.

HF Deluxe sold 1,16,567 units last month and registered growth of 32 percent. During April 2015, the motorcycle sold 88,635 units.
Hero Passion sold 98,976 units as against 1,19,491 units, and experienced de-growth of 17 percent.

Passion's sales have been significantly affected by Splendor.
TVS XL Super sold 6,484 units more last month when compared with April 2015. It registered growth of 11 percent and stood at 67,045 units.
With a sales jump of 29 percent, Hero Glamour moved up to sixth from previous (April 2015) eighth position.

It sold 66,756 units in April 2016.

For third consecutive month, Hero Glamour continue to remain the best selling motorcycle in the 125cc segment, a domain which was earlier dominated by Honda CB Shine.
Bajaj Auto managed to retain the seventh most sold two wheeler in India when compared with April 2015.

It sold 66,409 units as against 53,331 units during April 2015.
During April 2016, Honda CB Shine dropped to eighth from previous (April 2015) fifth position. It use to be the best selling motorcycle in 125cc segment; a domain now owned by Hero Glamour.

Last month it witnessed negative growth of 28 percent and sold 52,751 units.

According to a recent study by JD Power, Honda CB Shine is the most gratifying new motorcycle to own and ride in the executive segment.
Bajaj Pulsar's sales declined for second consecutive month in April 2016. Last month it sold 50,419 units as against 51,191 units, and reported de-growth of 4 percent. However, it continued to retain its ninth position when compared with April 2015.

During March 2015 also, it registered negative sales of 4 percent.

Recently, the company informed that it is planning to launch a totally new Pulsar in Q2 FY17.
TVS Jupiter, which first entered the top 10 selling two wheelers list in June 2015, has continued to feature in it barring October 2015.

Last month, it scored the highest sales growth of 40 percent in the list and sold 43,256 units.
