Upcoming utility vehicle launches in India

Maruti Suzuki India's new crossover S-Cross, based on its SX4 platform, will be launched in the first half of July. The vehicle is expected to be in competition with the likes of Mahindra XUV, Hyundai Creta. (The S-cross featured here is the one which is available internationally)
German auto major Volkswagen plans to introduce five new products, Tiguan being one of them, in the next two years to increase sales. It is unclear which Tiguan, Volkswagen India plans to market, as European media have reported that the second generation vehicle, currently in the testing phase, will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. The name Tiguan is a portmanteau of the German words Tiger (“tiger”) and Leguan (“iguana”). All Tiguans feature two-row seating and four-cylinder engines.
South Korean car maker Hyundai Motor India will be launching the vehicle on July 21 and the start of production will happen within a fortnight, around June 20. Expected to be priced between Rs 8 - 12 lakh, the Creta will be available in both petrol and diesel engine option and it will also come with an automatic transmission.
Expected to be priced between Rs 8 to 10 lakhs, Creta is expected to play a big role in Hyundai achieveing the set sales target of 4,65,000 units in 2015. Recently, the 5 seater compact SUVs micro site went live.
The TrailBlazer is based on General Motors' Colorado pick-up truck's ladder frame chassis. GM will bring the the SUV to India via the CKD route and will be assembled at the company's Halol plant. (The car featured here is the one which is available internationally)
This 7-seater SUV will include anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution system (EBD), electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent control, engine drag control, and airbags for driver and co-passenger etc.
This one will be a full sized, seven seater SUV. The new SUV which has been built from the ground up will replace the aging Endeavour. Ford is clear that it doesn't want any of the negatives of the Endeavour to plague the new SUV and therefore, it will offer more usable space - even for the third row of seats - better braking and handling, and more upmarket, better finished interiors. The Endeavour replacement will come with a diesel engine and a five speed manual gearbox to begin with and is expected to undercut the Toyota Fortuner in terms of pricing. It will also come equipped with Ford's new SYNC multimedia interface. It will get AppLink as well.
GM India has announced that it will introduce the Spin MPV in 2016. In India, the Spin is likely to be called Essentia. This will be a premium seven-seater MPV and it will be placed above the Chevrolet Enjoy. The Essentia will be priced between Rs 9-13 lakhs (on-road).
The Chevrolet Essentia will get in-dash music system with Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary input as well, ABS and dual-airbags on the top of the line variant.The second row of seats has a 60:40 split fold and the third row has 50:50 split fold.It is expected Chevrolet may add touchscreen system with reverse parking camera in Essentia.
