Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited was established in the year 1999 and has its headquarters in Gurgaon. It is a wholly owned Indian subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Limited, Japan. They offer scooters, motorcycles, and bikes, as well as parts of vehicles through dealers. The company is the fourth Honda automotive venture in India, after Kinetic Honda Motor Ltd, Hero Honda and Honda Siel Cars India. Presently, they have four manufacturing locations at Manesar in Haryana, Tapukara in Rajasthan, Narsapura,Ballery in Karnataka and Vithalpur ,NW of Ahmedabad Scooter exclusive plant in Gujarat. Their facility in Narsapura is the largest amongst its four locations and has a capacity of 6,600 vehicles per day Honda India sales skyrocketed up to 4.28million motorcycles and scooters backed by scooterization of India via bestselling scooter Activa over 350,000scooter sales in September, 2017. The company got ISO 14001 certification in December 2002. HMSI plans to use the PDCA cycle for its environmental management system.
