India Kawasaki Motors Private Limited was established in the year 2010 and has its headquarters in Pune. It is an Indian motorcycle retailer and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Motorcycle & Engine, Japan for imports and sales of motorcycles. The company was a technical assistance agreement with Bajaj Auto Ltd in the year 1984 and supported to expand production and sales of motorcycles in the country. In the year 2016, the company decided to break up with Bajaj Auto Ltd for sales and services and sell their motorcycles through their own network. The company currently sells the following modes: Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Ninja 1000, Z250, Z650, Z900, Z1000, Z1000R, Versys 650, Versys 1000, Ninja ZX-10R, Ninja ZX-10RR, Ninja ZX-14R, Ninja H2, Ninja H2R and Ninja H2Carbon through exclusive dealerships. Kawasaki has opened a new showroom in Coimbatore. This covers a 2,300 sq ft area with an integrated 650 sq ft service centre. It will be retailing the complete company's product range, while the company says that the technicians have also undergone specific training to help with the high performance bikes. Shishir Sinha was appointed as the new director for sales and marketing.
