Volvo plans to expand certified used-car business pan-India by early 2024

Malhotra estimates that the company could close the year (2022) at around 1,900-2,000 cars which, in his view, will be a "decent growth" considering the supply-chain constraints. Government to replace up to 30,000 old buses in electrification drive

Acharya said while this asset-light model has made it possible for ailing STUs to deploy affordably and at scale, challenges do remain regarding availability of adequate power supply at depots for charging buses proposed for induction. State governments would have to invest in upgrading grids to ensure adequate load for charging electric vehicles.

Vedanta clarifies semiconductor manufacturing to be done by holding company Volcan

Earlier, Vedanta and Foxconn had said they will invest over Rs 1.54 lakh crore to set up a display fabrication and semiconductor manufacturing facility in Gujarat. Oil prices at seven-month low but no change in petrol, diesel prices in India

International benchmark Brent crude fell below $90 per barrel last week for the first time since early February as recession fears weigh on demand. It has since recovered and is trading at $92.84 per barrel, the lowest in six months. But this has not led to any revision in retail petrol and diesel prices in India and they continue to be on freeze for a record-setting 158 days.

India's GDP to slow from 8.3% in 2021 to 7.7% in 2022: Moody's

India’s real GDP growth will slow from 8.3% in 2021 to 7.7% in 2022 and will decelerate further to 5.2% in 2023, Moody's Investor Service said in a report on Thursday. Rising interest rates, uneven distribution of monsoons, and slowing global growth will dampen economic momentum on a sequential basis, it said.

India’s economy faces resilience test amid rising interest rates

Gross domestic product is estimated to rise 15.4% in the three months to June from a year ago, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists. That’s the fastest reading since the April-June quarter of 2021 and compares with a 4.09 expansion in the previous three months.
