The Company also offers electric vehicles and energy management products. Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles markets its products worldwide. The company was a joint venture between the Maini Group of Bangalore and AEV LLC of USA. Since then, the company has remained focused on creating affordable electric cars through advanced technology. It launched its first model in India in 2001 and in London in 2004. Mahindra Reva exemplifies the Mahindra Group's vision of the Future of Mobility. The Future of Mobility envisions an automotive ecosystem that brings Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost-effective the 5 C's) mobility solutions to customers across the world. The company's new factory in Bengaluru is the first automobile plant to receive a platinum rating from the Indian Green Building Council. “Earlier we had exempted all electric, ethanol and methanol fuelled vehicles from permit regime. All such cabs and motor cycles attached to the operators under these schemes should have been eligible to get the licence. But they were facing problems when they applied for licences,” said an official.
