Wheels India Limited was established in the year 1962. The company is promoted by the TVS Group which is the largest auto components manufacturer in the country. Wheels India is one of the largest steel wheel manufacturers in the world. They also manufacture air suspension kits for trucks and buses. They started their production of wheels in 1962 at their first plant in Chennai. They started their production of car and tractor wheels in 1965. They opened their second facility in Rampur for tractor wheels. They entered the wire wheel business in 1988 and they also indulged in the air suspension market under the brand "WILRIDE". The company opened a facility in Pune to deal with the automotive growing hub. The Pune facility manufactures wheels for car, trucks and busses. The company started manufacturing forged aluminium wheels in the year 2005 to deliver to the growing after market for truck and trailer manufactures. The company set up two new facilities at Sriperumbudur and Bawal. The company also set up a new facility at Pantnagar for catering the growth of truck and light commercial vehicle business. The company is a proud partner to a numerous global OEMs that include Ford, Hyundai, John Deere, Leyland and Suzuki. The company has won a number of awards that is a proof that the company believes in its policy "Quality First". Energy equipment parts division is involved in manufacturing components for energy equipment that includes Wined Turbines and machined components for various other application. The Heavy Engineering Division manufactures auto structural that includes beams, boxes and columns auto welded and manually welded from plates and rolled sections. These are taken into consideration to meet the desired requirements of the customers.
