Honda Jazz Review
The all new Jazz is Honda’s premium mid-level hatch. The second generation Jazz comes with the premium feel, which the outgoing model was missing.
EXTERIOR
The all new Jazz is based on the latest Exciting H design philosophy. The front fascia features a large grille with chrome lining which blends perfectly with the sweptback headlamps, the redesigned bumper offer a larger air dam, and circular fog lamps on both sides. The side profile has very little changes in terms of the boxy-looking appeal and sharp lines running around. The tail-lights now have reflector inserts and placed in a horizontal manner. It features 15-inch alloy wheels.
INTERIOR
The interiors of the Jazz resemble to that of the City. The feature list includes – a 5-inch touchscreen LCD display infotainment system, even the air-con unit is touch-sensitive,, the instrument cluster has a blue highlight, 2-spoke steering wheel mounted with audio controls, and the seat upholstery is quite comfortable with adequate leg/head/shoulder room.
ENGINE, PERFORMANCE, RIDE & HANDLING, MILEAGE & SAFETY
This all new Jazz comes in both petrol and diesel variants.
The petrol engine is powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC motor that offers a maximum power of 90Ps and a peak torque of 110Nm - which comes mated either to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox or a CVT gearbox.
The diesel variant, on the other hand, is a 1.5L 4-cylinder DOHC i-DTEC engine which churns out 100Ps of power and a peak torque of 200Nm, and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The ride and handling have been improved due to the amazing suspension setup – the McPherson Strut coil spring in the front and Torsion beam coil springs at the rear. It features 175/65 15-inch alloys.
Safety features include dual SRS airbags, driver side window one-touch up/down with pinch guard, impact mitigating headrests, an immobilizer anti-theft system, ACE body structure and ABS with EBD.
CONCLUSION
With the all new features and design, the Jazz is the full package that is worth buying.
