Mahindra NuvoSport Review
The NuvoSport is the latest offering by Mahindra in the compact SUV segment. The NuvoSport was launched to replace the Quanto. The NuvoSport is based on the new Scorpio’s platform and also the looks have been revised and now the NuvoSport looks sportier than its predecessor.
EXTERIOR
The front fascia of the NuvoSport features the company’s signature black grille with vertical slats. The front bumper is also revised to give the car an aggressive appeal. The NuvoSport also features new headlamps and LED DRLs. Also there is an air scoop on the bonnet/hood. The rear and side profile remains identical to that of its predecessor. But certain changes can be noticed, like new 16-inch wheels, new tail-lamps, a fresh spoiler, spare wheel cover and a redesigned bumper.
INTERIOR
The interiors of the NuvoSport offer a fresher appearance. The dash features eye-shaped circular AC vents, and an orange backlit display shows the readings. Also, the NuvoSport features a 6.2-inch Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system, along with a new instrument cluster. The height adjustable driver seat is quite comfortable with height adjustment function. The cabin is spacious with ample of leg/head/shoulder room for all occupants.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION, RIDE & HANDLING, BRAKING & SAFETY
The NuvoSport is powered by a 1.5L mHAWK100 diesel engine with 2 stage turbocharger that churns out 101Ps of power and a peak torque of 240Nm. It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The ARAI certified mileage is 17.45kmpl.
The ride and handling is smooth, as the NuvoSport is well-equipped with double wishbone suspension with coil spring in the front and multi-link suspension with coil spring at the rear.
The NuvoSport follows the traditional braking system with front disc and rear drum brakes, which support ABS with EBD.
For comfort and convenience, Mahindra has loaded the NuvoSport with features that include flexi 5+2 seating, best-in-class boot space of 412L, height adjustable driver seat, flat floor, electrically adjustable ORVMs, lumber support, remote keyless entry, adjustable arm rests, puddle lamps on all doors and lead-me-to-vehicle and follow-me-home headlamps.
The safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front fog lamps, 3-point ELR seat belts with height adjuster, side intrusion beams, engine immobilizer, collapsible steering column, child lock and speed sensing auto door lock
CONCLUSION
With the NuvoSport, Mahindra is targeting the customers who are looking for modern looks, spacious cabin, robust built and is easy to drive. Priced in the range of Rs. 7-10 lakhs, the NuvoSport is the perfect buy for urban buyers.
